Dylan Gauld - "Growth"

"Growth" explores the aggressive growth and development of cancer cells.

Working in collaboration with mathematicians at the University of Dundee, this ongoing research aims to develop predictive mathematical models of solid tumour growth.

This growth is visualised using a combination of custom-built 3D visualisation tools and cutting-edge computer graphics and animations techniques (often used in the visual effects industry).

The aim of this project is to enhance the development of improved tumour models and assist in the interpretation of the model results, with the long term goal of assisting clinicians in developing more accurate patient-specific treatment, such as chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy.
